Hole 18

This great finishing hole showcases Donald Ross' genius. A drive up the left center of the fairway is the shortest route to the upper level. However, it is a long blast. For most players tee shots land short of the plateau and leave an uphill and side hill lie. The second shot to this green is critical. The green is well guarded by six deep greenside bunkers - three in front, two to the left and one on the right. The green has two distinct levels and requires an accurate medium or short iron. Depending on the flag position, putting from one tier to the other is treacherous. This hole provides a chance for birdie - but can also lead to a double bogey or worse for those who get careless.
